Scan.com - Diagnostic Imaging

Scan.com lets clinicians order diagnostic imaging (MRI, CT, X-Ray, Ultrasound) directly from patient records. Patients receive booking links via email to schedule their scan.

How to Enable

  1. Navigate to Apps > Scan.com
  2. Toggle the Enable Scan.com switch to on
  3. The system validates the connection automatically
  4. Once enabled, an info message confirms: "Clinicians can now create imaging referrals directly from the patient sidebar"

No credentials or external account setup is needed - Scan.com is managed at the platform level.

Connection Status

When enabled, the Overview tab shows:

  • Token Status - Valid (blue) or Expired (red)
  • Last Updated timestamp
  • An error alert if there is a connectivity issue

Ordering a Scan

Clinicians create imaging referrals from the patient sidebar:

  1. Open a patient record
  2. Select the scan type (MRI, CT, X-Ray, or Ultrasound)
  3. Enter the clinical indication and priority
  4. Submit the referral
  5. The patient receives a booking link via email

Disabling

Toggle the Enable Scan.com switch to off. Existing referrals are retained but no new referrals can be created.

Tip: Include detailed clinical indications when ordering scans. This helps the imaging centre prioritise and prepare for the patient's appointment.
