Calendar Privacy Mode

Last updated: 16 April 2026

Overview

Calendar privacy mode lets you hide patient names in the diary view, replacing them with initials or anonymised text. This is particularly useful when the appointment diary is displayed on a shared screen in reception or a waiting area.

How to Toggle Privacy Mode

  1. Open the Diary view.
  2. Click the privacy mode toggle in the diary toolbar.
  3. Patient names will immediately be replaced with anonymised text.
  4. Click the toggle again to restore full patient names.

What Privacy Mode Hides

  • Patient full names are replaced with initials or anonymised placeholders.
  • Appointment type, time, and clinician remain visible so staff can still manage the schedule.
  • Clicking into an individual appointment still shows full patient details for the logged-in user.

What Privacy Mode Does Not Affect

  • The patient record itself is unchanged.
  • Other views such as the patient list or clinical record are not affected.
  • Privacy mode is a per-session setting and does not persist when you navigate away from the diary.

When to Use It

  • Reception screens visible to other patients in the waiting area.
  • Shared workstations where the diary may be on display.
  • During screen-sharing in meetings or demonstrations.
