Overview
The communications feed provides a unified, chronological view of all communications sent to and from a patient. It brings together SMS messages, emails, and letters into a single timeline so you can quickly review the full communication history.
Feed vs Table View
The communications section offers two display modes:
- Feed view — a chronological narrative showing each communication as a card with key details, ordered by date. This is ideal for scanning through recent activity.
- Table view — a traditional tabular layout with sortable columns, useful when searching for a specific message or filtering by type.
Switch between the two using the toggle at the top of the communications section.
What the Feed Shows
Each entry in the feed displays:
- The type of communication (SMS, email, or letter).
- The date and time it was sent.
- A preview of the message content.
- The delivery status (sent, delivered, failed, etc.).
- Who sent the communication.
As you scroll through the feed, a floating date indicator appears to help you orient yourself in the timeline. This makes it easy to navigate through long communication histories without losing track of where you are.
Tips
- Use the table view when you need to find a specific message quickly.
- Use the feed view for a narrative overview of recent patient interactions.
- Both views show the same data — switching between them does not lose any information.
