How to Resume a Draft Consultation

Jump automatically saves your work as you go through a consultation. If you need to step away — to take a phone call, see another patient, or simply come back later — your draft will be waiting for you.

How Auto-Save Works

Every change you make in the consultation wizard is automatically saved after a short delay. You'll see the draft status in the footer of the wizard, showing the draft ID and the last save time.

There's nothing you need to do to trigger a save — it happens in the background as you work.

Finding Your Drafts

Open drafts appear in two places:

1. The Sidebar Patient Card

When you select a patient in the sidebar, any open draft consultations appear below the patient card under Open Drafts. Each draft shows:

  • The primary problem (or "Untitled Draft" if no problems have been selected)
  • The consultation medium (e.g. Face-to-face, Telephone)
  • How long ago it was last updated

Click a draft to resume it directly.

2. The Consultation Wizard

Draft alert

When you start a new consultation for a patient who already has an open draft, an alert appears at the top of the Patient step. The alert shows:

  • The draft ID
  • An Old Draft badge if the draft is more than 7 days old
  • When it was last updated
  • Who created it
  • The problems included (if any)

From here you can:

  • Click Continue to resume the draft
  • Click Discard to permanently delete the draft and start fresh

Discarding a Draft

If you no longer need a draft, click the Discard button (trash icon). You'll be asked to confirm, as this action is permanent. Once discarded, you can start a fresh consultation for the patient.

Tips

  • Drafts are linked to both the patient and the clinician who created them — you'll only see your own drafts
  • There's no limit to how long a draft can remain open, but drafts older than 7 days are flagged as "Old Draft"
  • If you close the browser or navigate away, your draft is preserved and can be resumed from the sidebar or consultation wizard
