How to Search and Find Patients

Find patients using the patient list, quick search, or the command palette.

Patient List

The Patients page shows all active patients in a sortable, filterable table. You can:

  • Search - type in the search bar to filter by name, email, phone, or patient ID
  • Sort - click any column header to sort ascending or descending
  • Filter - use column filters to narrow results by specific values
  • Configure columns - click the column settings icon to show, hide, or reorder columns

The table remembers your column configuration and sort preferences between sessions.

Command Palette

Press Ctrl+K (or Cmd+K on Mac) from anywhere in the application to open the command palette. Start typing a patient's name to see matching results. Select a patient to go directly to their record.

Recently Viewed

The system tracks patients you have recently viewed. You can access recently viewed patients from the command palette or the sidebar.

Patient ID

Every patient is assigned a unique patient ID (e.g. PAT-001234). You can search by this ID in both the patient list and the command palette.

Tip: Use the column configuration to add custom attribute columns to the patient list. This lets you filter and sort by organisation-specific fields like occupation or referral source.
