Inbox Overview
The Inbox is your central hub for managing clinical workflows. Every item that needs attention - whether it's a lab result, patient message, questionnaire response, or appointment event - appears here as an episode.
The "Next Action" Model
The Inbox is organised around who needs to act next, not traditional status labels. Every episode has a responsibility:

This keeps the focus on what needs your attention right now.
Filtering Episodes
The left sidebar provides several filters to narrow down episodes:
- Next Action - filter by Practice, Patient, No action needed, or show All
- Priority - Urgent, High, Medium, or Low
- Assigned To - Unassigned, assigned to you, a specific team member, or a team
- Pathway - filter by journey type such as Appointment, Questionnaire, Clinical Result, Messaging, Billing, Document, Identity, Clinical Access, or General
Sorting and Display
You can control how episodes are displayed:
- Sort by newest, oldest, or priority
- Show closed episodes - toggle this on to include resolved episodes in the list
Saved Views
If you frequently use the same combination of filters, you can save them as a view:
- Set up your desired filters
- Click the Save View button in the sidebar
- Give the view a name
- The view now appears in the sidebar for one-click access
You can rename or delete saved views at any time. Selecting a saved view instantly applies all its filters.
Tip: Create a saved view for your most common workflow, such as "My urgent episodes" filtered to Priority: Urgent and Assigned To: Me.
Bulk Actions
When you need to manage several episodes at once, use the bulk action bar:
- Select multiple episodes using the checkboxes on the left of the episode list
- The bulk action bar appears at the top with available actions
- Apply actions such as assigning, changing priority, or closing to all selected episodes at once
Message Timeline
The conversation view includes several features to help you follow the thread:
- Date separators divide messages by day so you can quickly find when something happened
- Delivery indicators show whether messages have been sent and delivered
- Clickable appointment titles let you jump straight to the appointment from an event in the timeline
