SNOMED CT

SNOMED CT (Systematized Nomenclature of Medicine, Clinical Terms) is the clinical terminology standard used across the NHS and adopted internationally to code diagnoses, findings, procedures and other clinical concepts consistently.

Coding a consultation in SNOMED CT rather than free text means the same concept is recorded the same way every time, which is what makes registers, care gaps, recalls and reporting possible without manual re-reading. Jump uses SNOMED CT for clinical concepts throughout the record.
